TECHNICAL INSPECTION IS MANDATORY FOR ALL VEHICLES BASED ON THE CURRENT MINISTERIAL DECISION

For vehicles that are circulating without being equipped with a Technical Inspection Certificate from an MOT Center, strict penalties are imposed, starting from a financial fine of 300 euros and may extend to the confiscation of the vehicle’s registration license.

Vehicles are presented for inspection according to the schedule set by the relevant MOT Center, based on the issuance date of the first registration for new vehicles, or according to the date of the next inspection stated on the Technical Inspection Certificate.

A vehicle is considered on time if it is presented for inspection within the week specified by the Ministry of Transport’s invitation schedule, or up to 1 week after the date listed on the previous Technical Inspection Certificate. If the vehicle is presented up to 2 additional weeks after the due date, it is considered partially late and will be charged a special fee in the form of a stamp duty for the benefit of the Greek State.
